Sousa has thought to have held talks with Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins with a view to succeeding Roberto Martinez at the Liberty Stadium. Relatively new to management, the Portuguese out of work boss was sacked by Hoops chairman Flavio Briatore, who claimed that the 38 year old had revealed confidential information regarding club transfers.
Taking charge of just 26 games at the London club, many QPR fans were left shocked by the departure of the former Inter Milan player. Jenkins and the board will convene on Friday with a decision likely to be made within the next 72 hours.
Others in the frame for the job are former Tottenham assistant boss Gus Poyet, Sheffield United's Gary Speed and Aidy Boothroyd.
