Lopez has been rumoured to be one of Paulo Sousa's first targets after the Spaniard rejected new terms with the Loftus Road club last month. It is thought that Lopez and Sousa had a good working relationship at the London club which could make Swansea front runners to sign the UEFA cup winner. Two unnamed championship are also in the frame to sign the former Racing Santander man but Sousa is keen to bring his former charge to the Liberty Stadium as Bonnot confirmed to the BBC, he said , “Contact has been made, we've been talking with Paulo. Paulo would be happy to have Jordi with him. There's a good professional relationship between them. “
He added, " Jordi has two other options. It's going to be down to the talks and the decision of Jordi. Everything so far has been very transparent and clear."
Born in Granollers, the 28 year old started his career in the Barcelona youth ranks before switching to arch rivals Real Madrid, where he made three appearances for club. It would be with Seville FC that he would win one of Europe's most prestigious trophies, the now defunct UEFA Cup in 2006.
Moves to Mallorca and Racing Santander followed before the midfielder moved to QPR but not before failing a medical at Birmingham City.
