At 2pm this afternoon, an official undisclosed offer was tabled by the Latics for Scotland, who scored 24 goals last season.
It’s the first official approach made by Wigan – led by former Swans boss Roberto Martinez – and it’s believed to be close to the valuation set by the club for the striker.
The 30 year old has scored 53 times since arriving at the Liberty Stadium in the summer of 2007, his last goal coming in the 2-1 home win against Norwich.
“We have now received a formal offer from Wigan for Jason,” Huw Jenkins confirmed to the Official Site.
“We will consider the contents of the offer and respond accordingly within the next few days.”
