Meet The Ref – Leicester

Saturday’s referee for the season opener at Leicester is Grant Hegley from Hertfordshire; he is in his 7th season as a Football League ref and will take charge of his 6th Swansea match of his career.

Last season he averaged under 2 yellows per game and only sent off 1 player, so he looks to be a very lenient referee, the stats show we have won the last 3 away matches he’s taken charge of, the last being a 3-2 win over Norwich last season.

Stats for 08/09 season:

25 Games,
33 Yellows,
1 Red.

Games refereed vs Swansea:

Vs Shrewsbury (home) 01/02 Drew 3-3
Vs Exeter (away) 02/03 Lost 1-0
Vs Boston (away) 04/05 Won 3-2
Vs Bournemouth (away) 05/06 Won 1-0
Vs Norwich (away) 08/09 Won 3-2
