Meet The Ref – Middlesbrough

Saturday’s referee is Paul Taylor from Hertfordshire. He became a Football League referee in 1990, so he’s a very experienced referee. Last season he averaged nearly 4 yellows per game and sent off 12 players!

He will make his 6th visit to the Liberty Stadium and we are yet to lose with Paul Taylor in charge there. His last game was the 3-1 win over Nottm Forest, he awarded us a penalty in that game. He can be a fussy referee and be very whistle happy.

Stats for 08/09 season:

36 Games,
127 Yellows,
12 Reds.

Games refereed vs Swansea:

Vs Reading (away) 97/98 Lost 2-0
Vs Cardiff (home) 98/99 Won 2-1
Vs Mansfield (away) 99/00 Won 1-0
Vs Kidderminster (home) 01/02 Won 2-1
Vs Oxford (away) 02/03 Lost 1-0
