As Roberto martinez attempts to continue his dismantling of Swansea City Football Clooob to take them to Wigan Football Clooonb he now lets his gallery of former Swans stars to the talking as the Swans turned down the initial offer from Wigan to take the Dutchman to the DW Stadium (soon to be renamed the Liberty Stadium?)

Speaking to the Evening Post after discussion about the move, the Swans top scorer for the last two seasons Jason Scotland said "Ferrie is a very good player and obviously it would be good to have him here.

"He did really well for Swansea while I was there and sometimes a player has to take the next step up.

"We'll have to wait and see what happens but hopefully he will come here and do well.

"He has many many qualities but in Holland they called him the Dutch Roy Keane which said a lot."

Gomez echoed the words of Scotland when he said "Ferrie is a great player I enjoyed playing with him very much last season.

"If he did come it would be a great signing for Wigan Athletic.  He is a tackling midfielder but he can also play great football and scores goals from distance as well.

"I think he would be very good in the Premier League."
