The Swans will be hoping that their home advantage will help propel them into the third round of the competition this evening with fellow Championship side Scunthorpe arriving at the Liberty.
And the visitors will arrive on the back of a 4-0 defeat on Saturday at Sheffield Wednesday – their second 4-0 road reverse of the season.l
But despite that form, Sousa believes that they will provide a stern test for his side who beat Hull at this stage of the competition last season.
He told the Western Mail “If we don’t prepare properly it will be tough for us.
“Scunthorpe know how to win games and they showed that against Derby. Of course it’s not easy for them when they concede four goals.
“But if there is one thing I know from my short spell in England, things can change quickly and their players will come committed to turning that bad result around.”
