Di Matteo – It Should Be A Good Game

Di Matteo will pit his side – who head the Championship scoring charts against one of the meanest defences at the Hawthorns on Tuesday night as Swansea City roll into town.

And he is anticipating a good battle against a side that he acknowledges is a good footballing team.

Speaking to the Albion official site, Di Matteo said “They are a very good football team

“They are similar to Reading but with more quality, they’ve hit good form lately.

“There’s a few of their players I quite like so it should be a good game.”

The game represents a return to the Hawthorns for Craig Beattie who grabbed his first Swansea goal on the weekend and Di Matteo added “He’s a great lad, a great guy

“He was a good player at training because he gave 100 per cent but he was down the pecking order here and wanted regular football.

“He will be trying to prove a point.

“We feel every team will want to beat us, not just us, but also Newcastle and Middlesbrough because we are the three teams that came down from the Premier League.

“Teams will always raise their game against us and we’ve had to deal with that from day one.

“I’m quite happy to lead from the front.

“I’d rather be there than chasing.”
