The Swansea City manager was nominated along with Dave Jones at Cardiff, Nigel Pearson at Leicester and Billy Davies of Nottingham Forest.

It was an excellent October for Sousa who led his side through the month unbeaten with 11 points of the 15 available secured thanks to wins over West Brom, Scunthorpe and QPR whilst Blackpool and Ipswich saw the Swans pick up a point in each.

The Swans are now unbeaten in nine league games with the winner of the monthly award being announced on Sky Sports this weekend by which time Sousa will be hoping to have started November with a victory over one of his fellow nominees as Cardiff visit the Liberty on Saturday
