The Swansea City midfielder's contract ends this summer but he has revealed that he is ready to sign a new two year deal having experienced a new lease of life under Paulo Sousa.

Orlandi told the Sunday Mirror "I am close to signing a new contract and I have no intention of leaving.

I didn't know what would happen when Roberto left.  I had the chance to join another club last summer but I decided to see how things worked out here.  I'm happy I stayed.  I am enjoying being more involved and in the style of football we play.

"There are just a few loose ends to sort out.  I'm very relaxed about the situation because I'm sure it will be fine.  I'm very happy at Swansea.  It's a great city and a club looking to keep going upwards."
