Pratley – Leaving Fulham Was A Great Decision

The Swansea City midfielder has attracted some great reviews this season at the heart of the team's midfield but he reveals how close he thinks he could have been to leaving the game had he not left the Premier League side.

Pratley played just twice for Fulham during his time at Craven Cottage but now says that only him and Dean Leacock from the lads he grew up with at the club are left in the game.

Pratley said "Leaving Fulham for Swansea was one of the best decisions I've ever made.

"Nearly all the lads I grew up with at Fulham ended up leaving football and now do everyday jobs.   I think Derby's Dean Leacock is the only other one still playing professionally.

"A lot of the lads who packed it in were decent players who could easily play in League One or Two.

"They've disappeared from the game because they never got out of the reserves.   The same thing could have happened to me if I'd decided to stay with Fulham.

"I'd probably be a builder – that's something I've fancied doing since I was a kid.   If it didn't work out for me in football that's what I'd have gone into.

"I've played nearly 200 games for Swansea and I'm getting noticed.   If I'd stayed at Fulham I would probably have played four or five cup games."
