The Swansea City midfielder has yet to sign a new contract at the Liberty despite their being what is reported to be a generous offer on the table to take him to a testimonial year with the club he joined in 2002.

And that has alerted clubs to the possibility of taking him away from South Wales and with former manager Roberto Martinez known to be an admirer of his former midfield partner, two and two on these occasions tend to mean column inches being afforded to the story.

The news which appeared on Click Lancashire said that Martinez was ready to make a £1m move for Leon although it has been backed up by no quotes or anything concrete with the only reference to the story being the People newspaper.
