Perry is a Cardiff City favourite and insists that the Bluebirds should want to win having suffered defeat at the Liberty earlier this season but he also believes that Swansea's indifferent form makes the derby more important to them than it does to Cardiff.
Perry told the Western Mail “Without a doubt this derby is much more important to Swansea than to Cardiff.
“Swansea have been not in the best form and if they lose this weekend I think they are going to start looking over their shoulders a bit.
“I bet there is already a bit of disquiet in the dressing room there, although they would not admit it.
“The goals have hardly been flowing for them too, so Sousa must have his concerns.
“Defeat for Swansea and I think you do start to have major doubts about their play-off aspirations.
“On the other hand, when you look at it just as a league game with three points on offer it is a game Cardiff could lose… and not do themselves too much damage.
“The pressure is on Swansea.”
If the Swans do succeed and win the game it will create history as no side has ever done the league double over the other and Perry added “You will think about a statistic like that. It is a record nobody will want to break and should ensure Cardiff are more fired up
“If City do lose they will be hurting big time… and, to be honest, they should do if that is the case.”
