The Dutchman was virtually a spectator in the Swans goal this afternoon, but yet another shut out means that he breaks the record, set in the 1999/00 title winning season.
"It's a very proud moment for me and the team," a proud De Vries told Swans Player.
"To break a record set by a Swansea legend like Roger Freestone is a tremendous achievement. Hopefully we can keep a few more before the end of the season to achieve our play-off aim.
"But we must concentrate on one game at a time."
Paulo Sousa had praise for not only De Vries, but his defence too:
"The clean sheet record is a credit for all the team, not just for Dorus and his defence," he added.
