The Swansea City and Wales defender has his wedding date set for after the play off final which is scheduled for Wembley on 22 May.

And despite the Swans recent poor form, Ash wants to make it a double celebration for himself.

He told Wales on Sunday “That would be incredible; the two biggest days of my life in the space of a couple of weeks, there’s a long way to go yet and there’s a lot to be done, with Swansea and the wedding!

“But I’m lucky that Vanessa has been great sorting out all the details for the wedding and left me to concentrate on the football because we have some massive games.

“I wasn’t much of a help last month at all because the amount of games meant I spent a lot of time trying to recover and sleeping.

“But we’re both hopeful I can be playing right up to the big day because to walk down the aisle a Premier League player would be amazing.

“It’s up to us,” he said. “We’ve got a tough run-in, but we’re in a better position than last year and we’re feeling confident.

“We’ve been in the play-off places for a long time and, whereas we were chasing all last year, this time we’re feeling mentally fresh.

“Burnley showed it’s about getting that momentum at the right time and I think we’re fresh enough for that.

“No one expected to us to be here, especially after the start of the season we had where people were saying we were going to struggle. Maybe there’s more pressure on a lot of the sides around us to go up or to get into the play-offs because of the money they’ve spent or the size of the club.

“That’s not the case with us because no one thought we’d be in with a shout and we’ve done ourselves proud with what we’ve achieved so far.

“We need to close it out now.

“We’ve worked so hard to get where we are and after doing so well it would be a massive shame for us not to finish it off.

“We’ve big games left that we can all get up for as a squad. We won’t have it easy and Barnsley will be tough next week.

“We will have to be at our best to get the points and then we can look at the next one and see where it takes us.”
