The Swansea City wide man joined the Swans earlier this season from Sheffield United and has played a big part in their push for the play offs.
And the play offs are something that the Blades know all about having been beaten finalists last season against Burnley but Cotterill knows why they have struggled to repeat that form this season – loan players.
Kevin Blackwell has relied on 17 different loan players this season making any form of consistency difficult to achieve.
“I was speaking to Chris Morgan and (Nick) Montgomery not so long ago and they’ve been saying it’s been difficult." Cotterill told the Western Mail
“At one stage their whole back-five, including the goalkeeper, were loan players, so that is going to be hard for any team.
“They’ve had people like Morgan out and he is a massive player for them, a big leader.
“So it’s not going to be easy for them.
“It would be nice to get a goal to help us improve and go forward.
“But the fans were good to me there and it is not about putting one over on them.
“It is about what’s best for Swansea and if I scored it would be great.
“We’ll have to wait and see what the emotions are like on the day, if it is a tight game and we desperately need the three points I don’t see why I wouldn’t celebrate.
“I have got to focus on Swansea now.
“Blackpool are on our heels and it is important we just focus on what we’ve got to do.
“We need to make sure we are picking up maximum points because if we do that they are not going to catch us.
“We are not looking at anyone other than ourselves and I am sure if we do it right we will be in the play-offs at the end of the season.”
