The former Swansea City manager believes that the team and club are ready for the Premier League and thinks it would be a bit of a surprise should they miss out on a place in the end of season play offs.

Speaking to the Evening Post, the man who left for Wigan last summer said "It's a bit of a surprise (that they could miss out) because I feel Swansea are in a very good moment to get into the play-offs and to try to get into the Premier League

"The club and the city — everything is ready for Premier League football.

"They have been in the play-offs since December and it would be a massive, massive blow to miss out now, although there is still another game to go."

He added: "It would be a shame to lose either Blackpool or Swansea from the play-off race because both are very similar in terms of their pattern of play .

"Both teams would have a fantastic day at Wembley because of the way they play."
