Reports in today's newspapers link the former Fulham man with a £2.5m move to the Premier League to join up with his former boss Martinez, who admits he is an admirer.
Pratley finished up as Swansea's top goalscorer with 7 after another impressive season at the club and he has also been linked to Sunderland and Newcastle in recent weeks.
With his contract expiring in the summer of 2011, Huw Jenkins and Paulo Sousa could be tempted into selling the 25 year old this summer if he isn't to pen a new deal.
Predictably, Martinez gave his usual line during interviews when asked about summer transfers: “We need character and quality.
"We will be looking for young players to come in and expand their game and their abilities.
“This is the exciting situation. We aim to bring fresh challenges into the dressing room, a new dimension to the squad. But all that comes after Sunday.”
“Pratley is a player I know well and he is young and has Premier League potential. We need different ingredients in our squad.
“There is speculation about a lot of players, and I am not going to say that it is wrong. But although Pratley has been a big player in the Championship, there is a huge gap between that and the Premier League.”
