The Swansea City manager was responding to speculation that suggested Keane was about to make a move for Beattie as he looks to strengthen his own promotion chasing squad.
But Rodgers said the talk at the moment was pure speculation as he explained to the Western Mail โI havenโt heard anything and, to be fair to Roy, we speak reasonably regularly. We speak very openly on players so unless there is a message on my phone I havenโt heard anything.
โItโs something I would speak to Craig about and see where we are at.
โAt the moment he has got a slight injury, but should be coming back.
โHe missed the end of last season, came back, worked very hard over the summer, came back into pre-season and broke down.
โThen, having had a number of weeks out, had just returned to training last week and picked up a little niggle.
โSo at the moment he is not in contention for us. But it is something we would look at and take it from there.
โBut, at the moment, itโs just speculation so I canโt really say to much on that.โ
