No Ipswich Move For Beattie – Yet

The Swansea City manager was responding to speculation that suggested Keane was about to make a move for Beattie as he looks to strengthen his own promotion chasing squad.

But Rodgers said the talk at the moment was pure speculation as he explained to the Western Mail “I haven’t heard anything and, to be fair to Roy, we speak reasonably regularly. We speak very openly on players so unless there is a message on my phone I haven’t heard anything.

“It’s something I would speak to Craig about and see where we are at.

“At the moment he has got a slight injury, but should be coming back.

“He missed the end of last season, came back, worked very hard over the summer, came back into pre-season and broke down.

“Then, having had a number of weeks out, had just returned to training last week and picked up a little niggle.

“So at the moment he is not in contention for us. But it is something we would look at and take it from there.

“But, at the moment, it’s just speculation so I can’t really say to much on that.”
