The Swansea City manager persuaded the board to part with what seems almost certain to become a club record deal to bring Sinclair to the Liberty and that persuasion is already paying dividends with Sinclair on 8 goals already.
His goals have helped fire the Swans to within 2 points of the automatic promotion places and also the fourth round of the Carling Cup but Brendan insists that there is more to come from the wide man who has impressed at many clubs in the past.
“Scott looks like he can score in every game he plays, no matter who the opponent is,” Rodgers told the Evening Post. It’s doesn’t matter whether it’s a big game or whatever, his target is to score every time he goes on to the pitch and he looks capable of doing it.
“He has eight goals so far and I think there’s a lot more to come.
“Scott is a Premier Leagueย talent, but he needs to play
“He needs games under his belt over the next couple of years.
“He is very hard to contain โ I saw him looking hard to contain when he was playing Premier League games at 17. He is a player who for sure will be in the Premier League over the next three or four years and we hope it’s with us.
“If it’s not, I’m sure his talents will take him there.”
Nouble’s midweek goal was the first of his senior career.
And Rodgers has paid tribute to the 19-year-old, who is on a three-month loan from West Ham. “It’s nice for a young kid to get his first goal,” he said.
“He is here to get experience. Sometimes he will play, sometimes he won’t.
“You can see his presence and his running power and the confidence to get goals.
“Ultimately he will be judged on the number of goals he gets in his career, so it was good to see him get the first one.”
