Victory for Swansea City on Sunday has made more people take them seriously as promotion contenders as they close in on the top two.
And as the season approaches one of it’s busiest periods, the Swans are on good form and have a chance to break into the top two this week on the back of two home games.
But Gower insists that their feet are firmly on the ground, telling the Evening Post “It was a massive derby and we got the win at Cardiff which is great for us
“But we won’t get carried away with the win or our start.
“We have got our aims โ we finished seventh last year so the play-offs are the aim.
“But we know that we can’t go into games thinking we can just play our usual way and beat teams.
“Teams are going to be gunning for us now. You only have to look at a few of the results this season that people would consider shocks.
“They can happen to any team, and if we take our eye off the ball then it could happen to us.
“We are in a good position at the moment, but last season we fell away at the end which was really disappointing.
“But we’ve ensured that we are right up there and the job for us now is to keep building our performances and results โ starting with Bristol City tomorrow.”
