Sinclair’s fantastic form for the Swans this season was finally rewarded when he received his Under-21 call this week and he could play against Germany on Tuesday.
Sinclair has scored 11 goals since a move from Stamford Bridge in the summer and that was enough to persuade Stuart Pearce to make the call to the Liberty Stadium.
โIโm very happy. Itโs really nice to get a call-up for the way I am playing and hopefully I can keep producing,โ Sinclair told the Western Mail
โIโve kept my head down and kept working as hard as I can.
โThe manager believes in me and I am playing week in, week out so I am delighted to finally get the call-up.
โThis is my first time with the U21s, so it will be a different experience, a different challenge.
โHopefully I can go in there and perform.
โAny game for England is a great honour and I am looking forward to it.”
Brendan Rodgers was equally delighted for Sinclair and he added โHeโs done very well and it will be a great boost to his confidence.
โHis performances have warranted a place as one of the top English players at U21 level.
โThereโs some terrific players at that level. He will be training alongside some really good players.
โItโs a great reward for him and the football club as a whole and something he really wanted to get.
โItโs a wonderful achievement for him and I am delighted.โ
