The Swansea City manager saw his side bounce straight back from the disappointment of a midweek defeat to Bristol City and Scott Sinclair’s late goal was enough to give them the victory.
It was no less than the Swans deserved after they dominated large parts of the game against Boro and Rodgers said after the game โI thought the performance was outstanding.
“I said to the lads at half-time that they have to keep the faith; keep passing the ball and the breaks will eventually come.
“They did just that and showed great courage to bounce back from the disappointment of Wednesday night where we showed a bit of mental fatigue after the derby on Sunday.
“But I thought we played very well today and deserved to the victory against a Middlesbrough side with good players and a top manager.
“I thought we controlled most of the game; showed great persistence and perseverance – and Scott did what he does best with the goal.
“Scott is a talent that I know from Chelsea)and it is nice that he has come in and done so well. He is a great talent and the goal was a terrific goal, it was a good move.
“We worked the ball from anย Alan Tateย throw and within two passes we were in the final third and Scott did what he has been doing all season.
“He showed great quality to cut inside and finish very well, and it was no more than we deserved.”
