BACK THE BOYS – FILL THE LIBERTY

Let’s look at the evidence

  • 3rd place in the Championship – within touching distance of the top two
  • Pushing on after two near misses in previous seasons
  • Playing some of the best football in years whilst widely acknowledged by many as the best ‘footballing’ side in the division
  • Generating further exposure with international call ups reflective of that
  • A well established squad who appear to be in total unison with each other
  • A young well respected manager hungry for success
  • A local board who love and care about the football club and not the riches that promotion can bring
  • A support base that has grown five fold in the past ten years

That alone should be enough for people to want to back the team.ย ย  We also have a board that wants to fill the Liberty and generate plenty of offers to entice people in but the numbers are not always climbing at the level that we would like.

And for those reasons alone we are asking everyone to BACK THE BOYS.ย ย  As fans we have our own responsibility to get people inside of the stadium and become the 12th man that everyone tells us is so important.ย  We all believe that we should have full houses week in week out well let’s work together to make that happen.

We all know people who we know would be there if we drew Man Utd, Chelsea or Arsenal in the FA Cup so why not bring them down week in week out.ย ย  By getting them to do that we may not increase the chances of playing the likes of those teams week in week out next season but one thing is certain – we do nothing to harm that chance.ย  And with 18500/19000 people backing the boys then maybe it will make the difference that can turn a draw into a victory or step up the level of a performance to make the difference come next May.

So starting next Friday against Portsmouth let’s “BACK THE BOYS” and spread the word and badger/cajole/hassle people to support their local club in the drive for the Premier League.ย ย  Based on the above the club deserve it, the players deserve it and the people who turn up week in week out deserve it.

We only need 4000 more people to turn up week in week out and we can achieve that by working together and getting more people in the ground.

The equation is simple.

More people = More Money = More Budget For Players = Better Squad = More Chance Of Promotion

So join us – BACK THE BOYS in the push for the Premier

Together we can do it.
