Kitson is expected to line up alongside David Nugent for Pompey tonight after making the switch to Fratton Park in the summer.
Portsmouth are looking to put back to back defeats behind them whilst the Swans know that a victory will draw themselves level with Cardiff City in second place.
“It will be tough,” said Kitson in tonight’s Evening Post. “But after a couple of setbacks that can be the time when you get a good reaction, regardless of who you play.
“Swansea try to play the game in the right way, in my view, by keeping the ball on the floor, moving people about to make the pitch seem big.
“If you are quick with the ball then you can create a lot of chances, but sometimes it doesn’t come off and sometimes that’s when you get results that you might not expect.
“I think you can see examples at all levels of football where when a team tries to play in that way they can often be outstanding, but when things are tactically right for the opposition there sometimes isn’t a plan B.
“That’s something that we are going to have to try to exploit.”
