Rodgers watched with satisfaction as the Swans scored twice either side of the break to give them their place in tomorrow’s 4th round draw.
He told the official site after the game “I thought our professionalism was fantastic
“The tie had all the hallmarks of a potential banana skin for us against a good Colchester team with quality players.
“These games can be difficult if you don’t approach them in the right manner as a manager or as players.
“But we were totally professional and some of our passing and goals were exceptional.
“I thought we controlled and dominated possession very well. Our attitude and mentality was spot on, but the key word remains ‘professional’.
“The FA Cup is a terrific tournament and we want to go as far as we can. It’s not a distraction because I see it as a chance to maintain our winning momentum.”
