Tate was a rock as Swansea City triumphed at Coventry City on Tuesday night and he knows that results like that are hard earned.
The Swans were under pressure for large periods of the game but won through late on thanks to a Stephen Dobbie strike – a strike that moved them back into 2nd place in the Championship Table.
โSometimes you want perfection โ but perfection comes with the result and not in the performance.” Tate told the Western Mail
โIn fits and starts we had the performance at Coventry, but it was more of a battle and we got the result.”
Swansea are widely acclaimed as the best footballing side in the division but will they have to sacrifice that title to get the results needed between now and May? โYou have to, to a certain extent, but you canโt go against what you are.” Tate added
โIf you do that youโre not going to get results.
โWe try and stick to what weโre good at and do the physical thing as well.
โIt was a different type of challenge at Coventry because their manager (Aidy Boothroyd) knows the league and how to get out of it.
โHeโs done it at Watford and it was a great test for the lads because theyโre scrapping for points.
โItโs irrelevant to be second at this moment,โ he said.
โWeโre not going to be promoted because weโve won at Coventry
โYouโve just got to push on and try to win the next game โ and itโs another big one against Leeds on Saturday.โ
