Tate – I Got The Ball

Swansea City's captain on the day told the Swans official website "In games like this referees have got to get the decisions right

"I watched the incident a couple of times in the dressing room and you can clearly see I got the ball. How the referee can't see that from where he is I don't know.

"We had two good penalty shouts for handball at the other end ourselves. The first one probably would have been harsh, but the second one was a clear penalty as the lad controlled the ball with his hand.

"It's disappointing, but we've got to get over it.'

"I said to the manager on Friday morning that I would rather travel up.

"If I did wake up on Saturday morning feeling well, I'd rather wake up in Scunthorpe than back home knowing I could have played and tearing my hair out listening to the game.

"I'm happy I got through the 90 minutes and I thought I did well apart from the penalty decision which has gone against me. But there's not a lot I can do about that. I've gone to try and win the ball; won it and the ref's given something that's not there.

"There are 11 games to go and we've got to try and win them all,'' added Tate. "That's unlikely to happen, but it's not going to be plain sailing for any club until the end of the season.''
