Planet Swans ArchivesThe Swansea City manager was referring to the possibility of punishment for Queens Park Rangers who have been accused of signing midfielder Alejandro Faurlin against rules on third-party ownership, using an unlicensed agent during the deal and providing false information on official documents when the 24-year-old extended his contract.
With the Swans in second place in the league, they are the nearest challengers to leaders QPR and any points deduction could push them to top of the table although a substantial fine is reported to be more likely.
“It will be very interesting to see what solution they find,” Rodgers told the Western Mail. “I was only made aware of the subject late on Wednesday by a fan at a supporters’ function so, without knowing any great detail on it, it’s certainly very interesting.
“I’ll be surprised if they docked them points because you look at the Carlos Tevez situation and West Ham were not deducted any points.
“But it will be very interesting to find out exactly what the consequences might be.
“And, whatever happens, they would have to find that solution before the end of the season.”
