The Ipswich Town manager let Priskin join Swansea City on loan last week and reduced his striking options in the process.
But he believes that he has enough points to secure Championship football next season – Ipswich are currently 15th with 49 points.
“Without ever counting our chickens, I think we have got enough here to make sure we stay in this division.
“Tamás was not in the team, even though he was close and was around the team, but hopefully he will do well at Swansea and maybe, just maybe, if he does well he might just get himself a move.
“He has a future at Ipswich, but if an offer came in that suited us, then I would listen to it, but he’s not getting pushed out of the door. If he had wanted to stay here at Ipswich, then it wouldn’t have been a problem for him to stay.
“It was one of those things where I thought it was OK to do. I just felt that we have Josh Carson coming through, and possibly Connor Wickham getting his chance down the middle now. We’ve also got Jason Scotland, and it’s not as though we score a million goals as well.
“Tamás has worked with Brendan Rodgers before and done very well for him, so we wish him well. It’s a calculated risk."
