The Swansea City midfielder told the Evening Post "I lost it a little bit after scoring — the emotion took over," said the midfielder.
"Thankfully I saw my wife Danielle and little boy Jimmy in the crowd, so I gave them a little wave.
"My boy has been giving me a bit of stick for not scoring, while my wife had not seen me score for Swansea.
"She went shopping and wasn't even going to go on Saturday — lucky she did though.
"Our away form has put us under pressure," said Gower. "We haven't got the results we need on the road, but our home performances have been excellent.
"We've responded really well to the Preston defeat.
"Norwich had the momentum before Saturday but we've taken that from them. It will be interesting to see how they respond against Watford tomorrow.
"But all the teams in the play-offs are eyeing second spot. It's so tight and we'll have to dig deep. It's going to change game by game and the fans are going to be on the edge of their seats.
"Hopefully I'll be celebrating more than a few more goals before the season is over."
