"Everyone sees drama from his own perspective."
Jean-Marie Le Pen
Perspective please Swans fans…I have read a lot of Negativity today from some of the Jack Army regarding the Hull game and it has really got to me. We are in debatably the most exciting and positive position we have been in as a club for 30 years, and although Tuesdays game against Hull wasn't as dramatic as when we met them on the brink of football league extinction in 2003 It was by no means the end of our collective dream to reach the top tier. I would like to call for some perspective please Swans fans…
Hull defended well with 2 banks of 4 very deep for 60 mins instead of recognising Hulls great away form and defensive ability some fans criticise Swansea. I for one think we did well to create the chances we did in that situation, had a few chances to play a killer final ball to Borini were we either lost possession or shot off target. I am not too hung up on this though because I realise he could have easily stuck it in the net and we would all be singing the teams praises. We did well to make the opportunities Tuesday in such tight quarters – Hull were marking tight and closing down fast.
As for the last twenty minutes, well I agree with most that we did seem to fall apart and I believe that Brendan and the team will learn from this.
My changes for the weekend would be
1. TAYLOR FOR TATE. Rest Taylor – his link up and 1-2's with Sinclair are more effective at home and only effective when he is 100% fit and not looking tired like last night. Bring in Tate who will give a bit more height and strength especially defending the set piece away from home.
2. ALLEN FOR BRITTON Rest Allen – looked tired towards the end of the Hull match.. Mentally wanted to close down every ball but his legs were not co-operating.
3. DOBBIE FOR PRATLEY the playmaking lost by resting Allen can be replaced by the box to box energy of Pratley, surely he must be champing at the bit to get out there and perform. He is our ace up the sleeve for the run in.
So.. ''Play-offs for us!'' I hear – hell no – we are 2 points from automatic promotion to the Premier League with 15 points available, It is a fact that not one team in the top 6 will get all 15 points available with the pressure there is on the run in, for example take these possible results from next Saturday –
Cardiff lose
Norwich Draw or lose
Swans win
that puts us straight into second place again – IN ONE GAME. few if any would have predicted this success this season when Brendan took charge. So please Swans fans have some PERSPECTIVE and as always BELIEVE!
