The Swansea City vice captain stepped in at the last minute for the illness struck Garry Monk on Saturday as the Swans all but secured a second leg at home in the play off semi finals with their 2-0 win over Millwall.
And that has opened up a real possibility of a South Wales derby at Wembley on May 30 with Cardiff currently in third and potentially being consigned to the play offs on Monday evening if results go against them.
And Tate said “It’s probably a policeman’s nightmare – Swansea and Cardiff in the final and having to police 100,000 people down at Wembley.
“But if it’s Cardiff, it’s Cardiff. It’d be strange having a derby in London. But the derby games are the best you’ll ever play in.”
The Swans look almost certain to face Reading in the play off semi finals with the first leg on either May 12 or 13 and the second leg on May 16 or 17.
