And whilst he was focused on the result, Brendan said that he wanted to win for the supporters and those who have served the club so well.
Speaking to the Evening Post he said "I am very conscious that we are representing every manager who has managed this club and we are representing every player who has ever walked through the Vetch or through the Liberty
"It's certainly not about me, it's about all the people who have served this club and all the incredible Swansea supporters down the years.
"They are people who really have a passion, and now we want to do them proud.
"It's been an incredible rise," Rodgers added.
"I have spoken to Leon and Tatey about the club nearly going out of the league, and the feeling at that time must have been incredible.
"Now, after an incredible journey, we are one game away from the Premier League.
"It's a magic carpet ride really, and no club could deserve it more than Swansea if we can get there.
"This club picked itself off its knees and put itself on the map again.
"Hopefully we can take that one final step and put it on the worldwide map.
"As always, I will pick the best team to win the game rather than the best players," he said. "The magnitude of the game does not change that approach."
