Pratley has yet to commit his future to anybody on the expiry of his Swansea City contract despite pre play off final reports that he had signed for either Bolton or Newcastle United.

And speaking to the Western Mail he said “I am an honest person and if I had signed a pre-contract with a club I would say so

“I don’t know where the story came from, or who has brought that out in the press, and whether it was done to try and distract us in the final.

“I also saw I was linked with Wigan, Newcastle, and West Ham among others, so I have signed for five clubs already!

“I will sit down with my family and decide from there. I will go on holiday and decide about my future.

“Everyone says about me signing a contract here, but there is no contract on the table.

“I don’t expect anything in football. I don’t expect the chairman to give me anything, you have to earn it. But I do believe I have earned it.

“It’s been a long season, a lot has been written in the press, some I feel undeservedly,” said Pratley.

“All I’ve focused on is getting Swansea to the Premier.

“Rumours and links come all the time. Last year it was Nottingham Forest and this year it seems to be bigger clubs.

“Not bad for someone who is supposed to be having a bad season.

“When we played Cardiff last season and won 3-2, and I managed to get two goals, I was asked the question if I wanted to sign a new contract?

“I’ve got the press cutting at home where I said ‘I’m happy, my girlfriend’s happy and my dog is happy in Swansea’.

“I wanted a contract last season, Paulo tried to get that for me, it didn’t seem to materialise. This season the new manager has tried to get that for me and it didn’t happen.

“It is not as if I am demanding stupid wages, that’s never been the case. I never wanted to be in the last year of my contract, I always wanted that to be sorted straight away.

“Last season when I said I wanted a contract nothing happened. I was on holiday and there was a statement that Swansea were in no rush to give me a contract.

“I read that and it was very upsetting for me.

“I might not be the best player on the pitch but I will always try my hardest and I sweat blood for the club.

“No matter what happens no-one can take away what I have achieved at the club,” added Pratley, who has made more than 180 appearances for Swansea.

“I have been here for five years and we have won two promotions and are in the Premier League.

“To achieve that with Swansea is a dream come true.”
