“Fabio is returning to Italy on a five-year agreement,” said Marco De Marchi. “Parma have given Fabio a very good contract.
“He’s a great player. He’d already signed before the play-off Final so it wasn’t possible to have a rethink and stay with Swansea.
“Sadly, he was unable to be with the squad at the parade because he was going away with Italy’s Under-21s for a tournament in France.
“But he wrote a letter saying thank you to all his teammates. The club will always be in his heart.”
