The Swansea City Chairman was reacting to news stories that emerged yesterday suggesting the defender was a target for the Swans as they build their squad for their first season in the Premier League.
But the move was denied by the Chairman who told the official site "Swansea City would like to confirm that there is no truth in this rumour.
"We are quickly learning that due to our new status as a Premier League club, we are being linked with players even when we have had absolutely no contact at all with their club.
"But we believe it was only right to inform our supporters know what the situation really is."
