Pintado has effectively had the last year of his contract paid up by the club and will leave immediately.
He told the official website "I would like to thank the supporters and the club for everything
"Everyone has been so warm and welcoming since I've been here.
"It's been a pleasure representing Swansea and I wish all the supporters and the club continued success on and off the field.
"I'm sad to leave, but that's football. I have had a happy three years here and it's nice to know that it has coincided with arguably the best three years in the club's history.
"I have a few options open to me,'' added the 33-year-old. "But my priority at the moment is to get myself fit again after such a nasty injury.''
