Steven Caulker insists that things are very different then they are at Tottenham Hotspur but he is loving Swansea City
Caulker is at the club on a season long loan and on Monday night will make his Premier League debut for the club against Manchester City.
Caulker said “It is very different for myself coming from Spurs.
“It’s a massive difference with the facilities but you make do. At Swansea’s training ground we shower and use the gym with the community and I think that’s quite nice.
“It’s very friendly here and there’s a nice bond between the players and the community. At Tottenham it’s all seperated.
“You’re eating lunch and you’ve got the fans there. The kids come up and ask for your autograph and none of us mind that. It’s unique and the training’s been very good since I’ve come in.
“And anyway it’s all about what you do on the pitch not off it.”
And on the pitch on Monday he will come up against Mario Balotelli, David Silva and Edin Dzeko for City whilst £38m man Sergio Aguero will be waiting on the bench for his chance.
“Balotelli is obviously a fantastic player, no-one can doubt that. But his attitude on and off the field seems to be a problem.
“He has got the ability so if he’s on form on Monday night he’ll definitely be hard to handle.
“I like to model myself on centre backs like Rio Ferdinand and Ledley King but you can definitely admire quality strikers.
“Man City have got th likes of Tevez and Aguero who are small and nippy. Give them a chance and they’ll bury it.
“It’s going to be difficult for whoever plays but we’re confident as a team.
“These are exciting times so speaking on behalf of the boys we’re all buzzing and looking forward to the challenge. Since I was a kid it’s been my dream to play in the Premier League so if I make my debut on Monday night it will be a moment I’ll be very proud of.
“I’m more confident we’ll do well this year and showcase our football.”
