Huw Jenkins says that other clubs look to the Swansea model and wish they could replicate it
Jenkins sees the club head into the first Premier League fixture of their history at Manchester City tonight and knows that it’s an unique model across the Premier League that others aspire to.
“We are very lucky that we have a club and a structure which, I would imagine, the majority of football clubs and supporters in the Premier League would love to have but could only wish for.
“Clubs like United have a supporters body trying to find ways of changing how the club is run and how they can invest to be part-owners.
“In a lot of clubs, it’s never going to happen, but I think we are a blueprint. The way we are run has worked well for us and, when other clubs see how we do it, secretly they would like us to do very well.
“If we can work our way to the top of the British game by doing what we do then it will give everyone else connected with football a genuine lift.”
