Roberto Martinez says that Brendan Rodgers will find the solutions on how to keep the Swans in the Premier League
Martinez saw his side leave the Liberty with a point on Saturday thanks mainly to Ben Watson’s penalty being saved by Michel Vorm but Martinez knows that it was not all plain sailing for his side – now in their 7th Premier League season.
The Swans had their chances during the game through the likes of Danny Graham and Stephen Dobbie but ultimately it was a second blank for the side despite them recording their first Premier League point.
Sunderland are next up at the Liberty on Saturday before the division breaks for a fortnight due to the first international break of the season.
“You don’t know everything when you are born,” said the Spaniard.
“At the moment Swansea City are growing. They have just been born in the Premier League and they need to get through this period.
“They need to find the solutions in the Premier League, and Brendan Rodgers knows how to find them.
“Swansea’s squad is well balanced. There is great competition for places in every position and there is a core of players who know what it means to play for Swansea City.
“Don’t think Swansea didn’t make it difficult for us,” he added. “We had to work really hard to stop their threats.
“Swansea have unbelievable talent going forward and, if we had not been at our best defensively they would have hurt us.
“They have a great connection and cohesion and they were so arrogant on the ball, which is probably the biggest strength you can have,” he added.
“I think Brendan will make his team really competitive and they will go from strength to strength.”
