Steve Bruce was frustrated his side could not grab the win at the Liberty but offered belief that the Swans could stay up at the end of the season
Bruce watched his side waste some good chances but also seems oblivious to the fact that the Swans rattled the crossbar and missed some glorious chances of their own in the second goalless draw at the Liberty this season.
Speaking after the game, Bruce said “It’s been a very frustrating couple of weeks for us
“In each of the last three games we have created more than enough chances to win a football match.
“Newly promoted side or not, if you come away from home in the Premier League and create five or six chances, then you expect to go on and win the game.
“We hit the bar inside two minutes and then Gyan has a good chance, and when that happens you expect to finally put one away.
“In fairness their goalkeeper was excellent today and he has really settled in well here.
“But we have not been able to take any of them again in this game and that is the most disappointing thing for us.
“When I look at the rest of it, we have gone another game without conceding a goal and it is a point away from home.
“But we don’t think it is a good result and that is the level of expectation around the club at the moment. We feel we should have gone on to win the match.
“We have seen promoted clubs come up in the past and survive and Swansea are trying to play the right way, he added.
“They have plenty of pace in the side and wide players who are always going to be a threat.
“Brendan will now be asking if they can get the goals to keep them in the Premier League.
“He will be a bit like me and realise that the hardest part of life in the Premier League is scoring the goals to win games.
“I am delighted for Brendan that he has got the chance to prove himself in the Premier League because I know myself how much of an opportunity it is.
“When you come to the newly promoted sides early on you know it is going to be tough.
“Their supporters will cheer every pass, every throw-in and they will be behind their team every step of the way.
“People will find it very difficult to come to Swansea because of the way they play.
“The game was very open and you expect that from Swansea because of the way that they play. Both sides went out there to win the match.”
