Huw – We Are Doing It The Right Way

Huw Jenkins insists that the Swansea approach is the right one after they completed their summer spending spree

Jenkins oversaw the addition of ten new players to the Swans squad ahead of today’s submission of their 25 man squad for the Premier League although it was met with criticisms in some quarters for the type of player recruited.

Some fans bemoaned the lack of a “marquee” signing within the ten despite the first four £1m+ purchases in the club’s history.

Jenkins said “I look at what many people seem to regard as ambition on deadline day and to me it is astonishing

“Clubs sign players who are second or third- choice in other Premier League sides and fans see that as a massive boost.

“They are players who are unwanted at other clubs — they are players who have failed elsewhere.

“Then people seem to think they are going to be saviours at their club, and that just highlights what the transfer window can do. I find it astonishing how it works.”
