Wayne Routledge says that the experience of a standing ovation at Anfield was one that was amazing

Routledge said after the gameย “I’ve played here before and had good experiences but to be honest I’m still a bit stunned because my family is from Liverpool, I’ve been coming here since I was five-years-old and I’ve never seen a team clapped off

“To experience that was amazing. That says everything about the team performance because the fans in Liverpool know their football and they knew what they saw.

“We’re not little old Swansea City anymore. Teams are seeing the way we play football and our beliefs and are giving us respect.

“We just have to keep doing that.

“Hopefully I impressed. I came here late in the summer and had to bide my time,” said Routledge.

“I got a chance out wide and it was a great team performance. I was happy to be part of it.

“The manager deserves so much credit for the way we’ve settled and the philosophies he and the coaching staff hold at the football club.

“You saw it last year in the Championship, the only way the club is going to play is by passing it and keeping the ball, and we haven’t changed.

“You can see it in every game from Manchester City all the way through, our belief and philosophy isn’t going to change.

“As long as we keep doing what we believe in I think we’ll reap the rewards for it.

“We’re learning game by game as a team and we’ll only get better.”
