Joe – Teams Will Be Dreading Coming Here

Joe Allen believes that the Swans are fast turning the Liberty Stadium into a fortress despite the weekend defeat to Man Utd

Man Utd became the first side to win at the Liberty for 15 games but not before they were given a fright by the Swans who pushed them hard in the second half for an equaliser.

Allen told the Western Mailย โ€œSome people have been shocked this season and Iโ€™m sure Man United will go away knowing theyโ€™ve been in a tough gameย and had to work very hard for the win.

โ€œWe can take pride from that. Teams will be fearful of travelling down to the Liberty Stadium because we do not make it easy for anyone.

โ€œItโ€™s a shame we couldnโ€™t go back to our friends and families and say we picked up a point or even three against a team like Manchester United.

โ€œBut itโ€™s an experience we will never forget and hopefully we will get the chance to do it over and over again.

โ€œWhen you look at the two games, Arsenal and United, you can see itโ€™s a fine line between success and failure,โ€ said Wales internationalย Allen.

โ€œItโ€™s why they are where they are and we have to try and get it into our game. To have lost to those types of goals shows how close we are.

โ€œAgain there are positives we can take from it, but at the same time we donโ€™t want it to be the story of our season.

โ€œWe donโ€™t want to lose but do it valiantly. We want to be picking up points and keep ourselves up near the top end of the table and out of trouble.

โ€œWe will learn a lot from this game. To be competing against a team like that as well as we did โ€“ things are looking bright.

โ€œWe feel we are going to grow as the season goes on.

โ€œWeโ€™ve had some pretty tough games, weโ€™ve got some big teams out of the way.

โ€œItโ€™s a shame we havenโ€™t taken points off some of the top four teams but at the same time the position we find ourselves in the table is one we can build on.

โ€œOn Wednesday I feared the worst,โ€ admitted Allen.

โ€œI was disappointed not to be available from the start but glad to have been involved somehow and a shame it could not have been a better result.

โ€œEvery single player at this club will remember games like these. The professionalism of their team is incredible.

โ€œ They certainly know how to win games and it is something we can look up to and try to emulate.

โ€œRyan (Giggs) made the point of coming over and speaking to me when I got on which was nice, heโ€™s been an idol of mine for many years. To have got the chance to play against him was a pretty special feeling.โ€
