Nathan Dyer admits that he is ready to work his way back into Brendan Rodger’s starting line up
Last season’s player of the year has found himself sidelined in recent weeks with Rodgers preferring to start with Wayne Routledge in games.
However, Dyer is sat back and waiting for his chance to come again as he explained to the Evening Postย “It’s the way things go
“I’ve been fortunate in the past two seasons to have played in most games, but you are not guaranteed to play in every single match.
“The manager has made the decision to make changes and put me on the bench, but there is no point in throwing my toys out of the pram. I have to knuckle down andย keep playing. Before the injury I was working hard in training and I intend to do the same.
“I don’t want to be watching,” he conceded. “You want to be in the action, especially when the team is winning games and getting plaudits.
“There will be chances to play because of the schedule over Christmas โ it’s like going back to the Championship days.
“That will be normal for us and we have to stay on top of our game. There’s no room for errors, especially in this period.”
