Brendan Rodgers has asked for patience as Ferrie Bodde makes another return from injury
Ferrie finally returned this week for the reserves against Hereford as he started another comeback from an injury suffered more than three years ago.
Having come through the reserve outing, there was immediately talk of a return to the first team squad – something played down by his manager who was clear when he said there was no real target date for a return to first team action.
“Psychologically it’s been a difficult time for Ferrie,” Rodgers said.
“He has been training for three or four weeks and now he has come through 45 minutes for the reserves, but for me there’s no great expectation as far as Ferrie goes for this season. If we can get him fully fit by the end of the season then great. Hopefully then we will have a top player in our ranks at the start of the next pre-season.”
