Brendan Rodgers is certain that new signing Josh McEachran will become a Swansea hero
McEachran signed on loan at the Liberty Stadium this week for the rest of the season and will travel to Sunderland with the squad with a likely place on the bench his immediate starting point.
Highly rated at Stamford Bridge, Rodgers is convinved that he will work his magic at Swansea and told the Western Mailย โHe is a cult hero at Chelsea because of his performances in some big games. He is a good kid with a good career in front of him and itโs about us helping him.
โI do think heโll become a hero at Swansea, I genuinely do. Supporters will really enjoying watching him.
โHeโs just like a kid off the street, he just looks like a young boy, but when he plays his talent is there for all to see.
โHe will be a terrific signing and I can see from his first few days he is loving it.
โIt will be entirely down to himself how far he goes. Heโs been earmarked as a big talent,โ added Rodgers.
โJosh will fit in very easily here. Itโs important players fit in terms of talent and personality, and he fits both.
โHeโs a wonderful technician with the ball, with great vision. He is an immense talent, which he will demonstrate over the next number of years.
โI think the supporters will really enjoy watching him. His talent is all there to see, itโs pure natural ability.
โI always said I would assess the squad in the first six months and my assessment was, we enjoyed possession.
โBut I always want it with penetration and feel Iโve brought in two players who can help us penetrate.
โHopefully we saw that in 45 minutes with Gylfi against Arsenal, and Josh is of the same ilk.
โWe know have a lot of talent in that area. The midfield three are important and we need to keep it fresh.
โI feel I could put any three in there now and they would perform well. Itโs a nice fight.
โAs a manager you want to have as much competition as you can.
โIf you become complacent thatโs when you get overtaken.โ
