Brendan Rodgers is hopeful his side can repeat their October victory over Stoke when they visit the Britannia Stadium this afternoon
Rodgers saw his side pick up an excellent win over Stoke earlier in the season and believes that they have it about them to repeat the feat this afternoon.
He told Wales on Sunday “The performance on the day and the result were excellent.
“You’ve got to prepare for different styles and we adapted very well on the day.
“It was an exceptional display from the way we dealt with the physical challenges to the outstanding football we played.
“We needed to stand up and be counted that – and we did just that.
“I hope we can repeat the performance and result.
“With 13 games to go, every fixture is going to be a cup final,” added Rodgers.
“We’ve got to remain really motivated to perform and aim to keep building on what has been a terrific season so far.
“The game plan between now and the end of the campaign is to win as many games as we can.
“We’ve shown over the 25 games so far how we win best. You can’t always play beautiful football, but we will always retain our style and identity.
“The target isn’t 40 points, the target is to finish as high as possible.
“Obviously the quicker we can secure our status in the Premier League the better, because it will allow us to start planning forward for next season that much sooner.”
