Brendan Rodgers says he is not worried that some of his players were on international duty in midweek
Rodgers welcomed back Steven Caulker, Gylfi Sigurddson, Joe Allen, Josh McEachran and Ashley Williams after their midweek international exploits and all will probably feature in the weekend trip to Wigan as the Swans look to halt their two game losing streak.
“I think across the board we will be fine,” Brendan told the Evening Post.
“We have not got many games left in the season now, and I think the players will be motivated to play and that physically they will be fine.
“Steven is a young, fit, phenomenal athlete, and if anything I think we will benefit because he got his first goal (for the England Under-21s).
“We all know that Ash just churns out top-level performances — he deals with the games really well now.
“And I think one of the big differences with Joe over the last season or so is how much stronger he is physically.
“A year ago if we were playing Saturday, Wednesday, Saturday, I would maybe have to look at Joe because he would really struggle in the third game, but I don’t think there are any qualms about him now.
“Josh will have benefited from the game-time he’s had and, while Gylfi has travelled (to Montenegro), he has not travelled far.
“The key for us this weekend is to do our job well,” Rodgers added. “We will look to pick up minimum a point, although I feel we can go there and win. We have to do our job when we have the ball and make sure we are consistent without the ball.”
